Evening Song – a dance performance for the little ones

Evening Song is a dance performance for our little fellow humans aged 3–6.

In a sensory world of visual beauty and delicate sound, the dancers awaken emotions we all carry within us: longing, love, sorrow, and tenderness. For a fleeting moment, the senses, imagination, and presence come alive, weaving a shared experience through dance, choreography, gentle music, and song – like sinking into a warm bath or being enveloped in a soft, tender, embracing blanket.

The scenography emerges from a sleep/bed-canopy universe – a soft, floating, and enveloping space. It’s like stepping into an inner landscape between wakefulness and sleep, where the fabric almost remembers the light of the day. The lighting design takes on a central, almost breath-like dramaturgical role – guiding the performance through a sunset, into the depths of night, and onward toward the first delicate sunrise.

Evening Song is inspired by the bedtime song "Solen er så rød Mor" ("The Sun is So Red, Mother") – the quiet melancholy and gentle security that coexists in that universe. That feeling of being held while something slowly slips away. I hope the light can help carry precisely that transition – from the familiar to the dreamlike.

Aftensang will be performed 86 times in 2026, and we’re incredibly excited to share it with a lot of children.
