I look forward to the collaboration with designer and multi-artist Henrik Vibskov on my new site-specific work BIG BANG - Collective Matter. The work will be the 2nd work in SVALHOLM's trilogy under the title BIG BANG and can be experienced 1st - 4th of September 2021 in Aarhus.
I've got a new artistic consultant. Her name is Pernille Taagaard Dinesen and I look forward to the cooperation we have already embarked on.
Dinesen is a former curator and museum inspector at the ARoS Aarhus Art Museum and will be my sparring partner on the cross-aesthetic and site-specific elements of my upcoming works.
The collaboration with Dance Theater TIC began during The Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS), Korea, 2019. During the collaboration 2019 – 2021 we will create a new dance-installation piece titled NeoGravity. NeoGravity builds on the experience from SVALHOLMS performance-installation Gravity (2019) a duet with Snorre Jeppe Hansen (M 28 years old,) and Sisse Lunøe (F 70 years old) which presented the bodies in dialogue with a large sculpture spinning above them and surrounding the audience. NeoGravity examines a shift in the basic perception of the world and being in the world. It parallels the new world and the time we are facing with climate crisis and pandemic, and refers to how much we globally affect each other´s lives.
Kim YunGyu is Artistic Director and Choreographer for Dance Theater TIC. His artistic work is based on a reinterpretation of Korean style movement and moves in the intersection of choreographic performing arts and installation art. Together with creative producer Jamie Hyemi Jung they develop the artistic vision for Dance Theater TIC.
